Our Vision Is Seeing The World Throughout Jesus’ Eyes
At the Society of Congolese Evangelical Communities International Inc. (SCECI), we are dedicated to living by the example that Jesus Christ has set. We strive to unite our Congolese evangelical members around the globe to share their Christian traditions and spread the good news of Jesus Christ. In line with this commitment, we hold various religious activities to worship the Lord, promote His Word, and prepare His humble disciples.

Family Life
Rev. Bakala is a caring husband to Gisele Bakala, a loving father to five children, and a doting grandpa to three grandsons. He, his wife, and their four children moved to the USA in 2004 for better opportunities. Before that, Rev. Bakala was born in the Republic of Congo to an evangelist family of five and was raised as a faithful member of the Evangelical Church of Congo.
Educational Background
He earned his degree as a physician in 1985 before he pursued post‑graduate studies in anesthesiology in 2000. Then, he obtained a master's degree in clinical research and regulatory administration at Northwestern University in 2016. He studied Master of Divinity for the following three years at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois to fulfill his calling in serving the Lord.
Religious Influences
Rev. Bakala was deeply inspired by the revival ecstatic prophetic movement he experienced growing up as a member of the Evangelical Church of Congo. When his fellow Congolese people immigrated to other parts of the world after the 1997 civil war, he believed that this religious approach will help bring his Christian brothers and sisters together and impact their lives for the better.
